Technology

To me, I think my iPod is really cool. I still can't get over how my iPod can sense the touch of my finger and it can do so many things. There is a camera and thousands of apps you can choose to download. I can do anything from getting on my Facebook to reading the Bible on my iPod. I can take pictures, email, update a calender, take notes, play games, check my grades, and, of course, listen to music! It blows my mind just thinking of all the things that thing can do. I know I'm weird, but its like it is from the future or something--INCREDIBLE!

p.s. Because this is my last blog of the year, I want to end it off with the verse that started my whole blog "theme" in the first place...

Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Rebel

I hope I'm not the only one who did this when I was little...but when I was still in elementary school, I would get all my socks and underwear and put them on top of the ceiling fan. Next, I would flip the switch to the ceiling fan and enjoy watching the raining socks and underwear spreading all over the room. It was how I had fun back then when I had nothing else to do! Of course, this action of mine caused me to lose some of my favorite socks because they would get stuck behind the dresser. And of course, I did get grounded a couple times. But it was totally worth it in my little eyes. I eventually had my side-kick, my brother, in on the crime with me. This served to be one of the only rebellious acts I took part in when I was younger.

What a rebel, right? ;)

www...

I spend a lot of time online because it has become the center of so much information. I go online for school reasons, social reasons, and for entertainment. I can watch full television show episodes online, and also do research projects. Daily, I check my school email and my grades online so that I can be in-check on everything school-related. Also I check my Facebook daily to see if anyone has messaged me or to update my profile. Although I spend a lot of time online, I don't let it dominate my life. I don't over-do the internet or spend hours online. My eyes start hurting and I run out of things to do online, imagine that! Overall, the internet is a great source for so many things and I am very thankful to have access to it!

Sunday

My favorite day of the week would definitly be Sunday. Because it is the day of rest, I don't work and most of the time I don't have school work to do. Church starts later than school, so normally I get to sleep about an hour later than usual. Also, I get to dress up for church and go to the best church in the world! Bellevue! At church I get to worship, fellowship, learn, and be encouraged. Sunday is the only day of the week I drink coffee because it is free in the lobby- something I look forward to! The afternoon after church is normally filled with chill-time. The time when I can de-stress, enjoy the weather, and relax. Youth group or something church-related is also that night, which is always fun and gets me ready to face yet another week! Sunday is the day when God reminds me to always be...

Give it ALL

Sometimes, our dreams and our plans for life overpower any thought of letting God plan our life for us. We need to ask, What is your plan for my life? We need to depend on God in all things and to plan out our life, and obey that plan. We need to make sure we're living out God's vision for our life. There might be an oppurtunity God provides, but it's not in our own game plan. If we go our own way and not God's way, we won't be truly living for God and surrendering our life fully to his works. We can't lose our initial passion for God by going our own way, just because it has selfish advantages. When really, God's promises and God's Will will reap more blessings than our own plans for life. We need to give God all the room He needs in our life, every plan, every oppurtunity-it has GOT to be all for him and his glory. We cannot forget what is really important and our goal to make God famous in this world. We must stay faithful to God-because he knows all. Why would we not trust him? What in this world is too hard for God to do? NOTHING! We have to make him 1st priority. We MUST always trust him, stay faithful, surrender our whole life, and always always be... White Days

  • Between my two days of classes, Blue Day and White Day, I would definitely say that White Day is my favorite. My Blue Day is packed with the hardest of my classes, and my White Day classes are enjoyable.

  • Here is my schedule:

  • Blue Day: Biology U.S. History English Biomechanics

  • White Day: Pre-Cal Socialogy Spanish III Study Hall

  • Waking up in the morning on a Blue Day is so much harder to do, because I know the day ahead. I know that the day might be challenging, boring, or a struggle. So I dread it. Which is awful because that puts my day to a bad start. What I need to do is have the positive attitude of a White Day morning everyday. No matter what day of the week it is or what classes I have in that day, there will always be blessings throughout it. And everyday I have the oppurtunity to be... HoldingHisRightHand ><>

Lunch Box

I heard my Mom say that taking your lunch to school from home is now not allowed somewhere in the New Jersey or New York area. I cannot imagine that happening in Kentucky, because I don't know what I would do. I take my lunch to school every day in either my Vera Bradley or Barbie lunch box, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The reason I take my lunch is not because I don't like school lunch, but because I feel that most of the school food is unhealthy and packed with calories. Therefore, I normally bring salad, grapes, almonds, and sometimes a sandwhich in my lunch box. Because I eat lighter foods for lunch, afterwards I feel a lot better than how I feel when I eat school food (especially if I have gym class the next period). I love taking my lunch to school, and I hope that in my remaining high school years I will always be able to bring it. ><> c.faulls

Cookie Jar

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? Well...back in the day it was me who stole the cookies from the cookie jar when I was not supposed to. I was a little girl in Texas who loved cookies. My mom has told me stories of how I would devise a strategy for getting one of those forbidden cookies when I was not allowed. To initiate the plan, I would tell my mom, "Don't see me Momma, don't see me!" And in my little brain, those words would automatically shut down the functioning of her eyes, and I would get away with my end goal and prize-my cookie! --c.faulls

Relax!

After working out in biomechanics, my whole world gets a little bit better when I hear Mrs. Johnson say that we are doing the "relaxation pose." This is my favorite part of the class. After running a mile, doing insanity/p90x/other workouts, and feeling like all the muscles in your body have turned to jello, you feel this intense need to stop and relax. The relaxation pose is the cure for all post-working-out symptoms. You lie on your back, on the cool concrete floor, palms facing the ceiling, and eyes closed. Then you focus on relaxing all areas of your body, from your feet, calves, quads, hips, stomach, chest, arms, shoulders, back, neck. It feels like you are floating in the air and drifting into a deep sleep. All you can hear is soft, peaceful music and you feel nothing. It is the ultimate form of relaxation.

If I had the time...

If I had the time, I would take a part-time job as a secretary. It sounds silly, but that would be my dream job. I love organizing things, typing things, taking notes, and doing errands for people. Being a secretary is something I would really enjoy doing. Also, this would give me a little money on the side! But because I'm in school, I definitley do not have time for a secretary job.

I can imagine it now...my grown-up work clothes, my desk with my name plate on top of it, pictures of my family, papers in stacks, a laptop, and an endless number of pens. I would actually enjoy starting my day knowing that I would get to go into "the office" and start off my morning with productive work. This would be unlike school, and it would make me happy.

"Secretary Christina Faulls"
I like it. :)

9-1-1 Emergency

If I had an emergency with my car or if I got hurt, I would call my mom. She is the person I trust will pick up her phone and that will come help me if I needed her. I trust her and she ALWAYS knows what to do in any situation.

If I had a fashion emergency, I would call my boyfriend because we know each other's whole wardrobe, and he could help with whatever outfit problem I had. If I do not know what shoes to wear, I call or text him to ask him what he think would look best. And I always trust his opinion!

If there was an emergency concerning my family, I would call any of the girls in my Sunday School class because I trust them all and know they would send out help and prayers.

If there was an emergency in my life and I needed immediate help, I would call onto God! Because He is always there, and I am always...

Ugly Words

U-G-L-Y :

Sometimes, the old lady's gnarled hands wrap around the hairy arm of Johnny. He had been a bad boy, so she stood his arm erect on the table, and whacked his arm silly. The old lady also got some curds and shoved them in his ears. She threatened to have his dog hanged! But instead, she took her hand with the corroded fingernails and whipped his tush. She then proceeded to have his dog to be eaten by Chinese!

WEIRD paragraph, I know...But those are 10 words that I think are UGLY!

Chicken!

Why did the chicken cross the road?

1. To get to the other side.
2. To get some exercise.
3. To get to the hot female chicken on the other side.
4. Because it was a dare (someone said he was too "chicken" to do it).
5. Because he thought he was invincible.

Silliness

Silliness is a little girl telling her mommy to close her eyes as she sneaks towards the cookie jar- "Don't see me!" she says.
Silliness is my 4-year old brother playing with his three closest imaginary friends and asking Mom to kiss them all goodnight at bed time.
Silliness is my fish's names being Caiu, Thomas, and Terrence Jones.
Silliness is my granddaddy realizing at a resterant that he has on one golf shoe and one tennis shoe.
Silliness is the little details in life that make it a little bit happier and more worth it. :)

Dog advice

If my dog, Pepper, could give me advice about life, she would tell me to always set aside some time to have fun. She would tell me to soak in the sun whenever it was out. Pepper would advise me to cuddle and love on those who are going through a hard time. She'd tell me to trust those I love the most, like she does with her owners. Pepper would tell me to shake off all the negative thoughts about life, like she shakes off water after a bath. She would tell me to always be thankful for every treat in life. She would tell me to always protect my closest friends and my family, like she does for us. Pepper has so many things to say, when really, she doesn't need to say anything at all. Through her actions, I learn about life.

Bad Ideas

Standing on top of a snow-covered roof is a bad idea.
Petting a rabid dog is a bad idea.
Putting a baby whose diaper is full on your shoulders is a bad idea.
Trying to change clothes while driving is a bad idea.
Walking through mud with white shoes is a bad idea.
Walking outside in 70 mph winds with a flowy skirt on is a bad idea.
Putting contacts in on a bumpy bus ride is a bad idea.
Texting while swimming is a bad idea.
Eating all your Halloween candy on Halloween night is a bad idea.
Wearing heels while hiking mountain trails is a bad idea.

Some ideas are just bad ideas.

Volunteering

Volunteering is something I do quite often. Ever since middle school I have been plugged into my youth group where we are very involved in community services. I have been involved in a range of activities through volunteering. I have helped at programs serving Burmese, Worldchangers, the elderly, the disabled, and less fortunate children. I have served food, babysitted, raked yards, powerwashed houses and porches, roofed houses, and sang in nursing homes. All of these oppurtunites end up blessing me as much or more than those we are serving. The feeling of helping someone or a group of people provides a good feeling that can't compare to anything else. I have heard stories of people's pasts that break my heart and are so humbling. By volunteering I build up some of the best memories I ever have had. Volunteering is so humbling, because you know that it is not you who is impacting these people-but God. He is the greater power that enables me to serve others. He is the one I give all the glory to. Serving is so rewarding, as long as I am...

Moonlight

The moonlight serves as our only light source when night falls. Without the glow of the moon, sight would be of no use. the night hours would be colorless, bitter, and cold. But God gave us the moon and its beauty. We crave that little glow of light in those dark hours. The moonlight gives us the hope of a new, better day. It shows as a sign that everything is in slumber. The situations, conflicts, and hardships of that day are put to rest. The moonlight does not focus its beam on the things of old, but symbolizes that the next day will be different than any other. It provides rest, but also excitement and anticipation. After an extra stressful day, the moonlight provides us peace when we go outside for some fresh air. Something about that special shine brings comfort, stillness, and serenity. Moonlight is so precious and so priceless because it never allows the earth to be completely overcome by darkness.

Grammie

My great grandmother, Grammie, is still living and in her nineties. All my life she has lived in Pennsylvania, but we would always visit her often. Now that she lives with my grandmother in Louisville, we see her many times a year. When I was about ten years old, my Grammie told me something that I will never forget: "You learn something new, everyday." Ever since I heard those words, I dwell on that thought. At the end of the day, I tend to think about what I learned that day. It doesn't necessarily mean learning something educational. It could be something you learn spiritually or physically. I have never came across a day when I think back to that quote and can't think of something new I learned. Grammie told me that I will learn to something everyday, and knowing that makes me appreciate those things that I have learned. I am thankful for every lesson, every obstacle, every teaching; because I grow stronger through what I learn.

Pistachios

Pistachios:the nut of a Eurasian tree; of the cashew family, containing an edible, greenish kernel

The pistachio serves as my usual choice-of-snack. To provide me with a burst of protein, I eat a bowl of pistachios. While packing my lunch, I usually pack pistachios. They are the most interesting nut in my opinion. The way the shell is cracked makes the nut inside easily assessable. This nut is also the lowest calorie nut ever- which is one reason I love them. They leave me with a feeling of being full and satisfied. It might seem like an unusual snack to some, but I love them. I have been on a mission to spread my love of pistachios to all.

The Way we Say

"A foolish man tells a woman to stop talking, but a wise man tells her that her mouth is extremely beautiful when her lips are closed."

This quote is very true in its message. The way words come across can be very complimentary, or very degrading. It's all about the way they are said. When there are conversations, the conversations need to be life-giving. When there are arguments, they need to be brought across with the right approach, and the result should be life-giving. Everything we say or do needs to be in a way to which we are building others up, genuinley caring for them, and giving them encouragement. What is the reward of degrading someone? There is none! If there is something that a person needs correcting, one needs to approach it in a loving, peaceful, calm way. This most likely will prevent conflict and result in a successful relationship. It's all in the way we say things!

Purpose

I strive everyday to live out my life by the example of Jesus Christ who walked this earth 2,ooo years ago. Much like him, I want to be an example to others through my actions. I want my life to be an example of living my life by the example of Jesus. He lived for others. He served others. He loved others with a love that no one since Him can even possess. He lived his life for the sole purpose of giving God glory. That is my purpose. In fact, that is everyone's purpose. Because you were born, and because God is giving you each and every breath at this very moment, that alone is proof that you are on Earth for the purpose of glorifying God. He created us for this very purpose. He is worthy of all the glory. That is why I am so honored to be...

Criticism

"Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."

I'm sure I critize too much. It is probably because I have a mom-like personality. I usually want to correct, and correct it my own way. This is not good and I should learn to accept people more for who they are. Although, the reason of most of my criticism is to help not to hurt. If I humble myself and see other's perspectives, I can either accept the other's way or give advice in a better approach. I am not one to take criticism well, so I should deeply consider the feelings of others before I feel the urge to start correcting what I believe is wrong. If I ever need help in finding resistance to such things, I know that He is always beside me. I know that I am always...

Free Time

Free time is precious to most people in America, because it is so rare. We do a million things a day. Then that time comes when you have checked off everything on your to-do list, come home from school/practice/meetings, ate dinner, finished homework, slipped into your jommies, and sat on the couch. Ahh. The feeling of being completely still, sitting down, and thoughtless. It is a great feeling that only comes around every-so-often when the things in your day actually become complete. How might we spend that time? Possibly television, a good book, computer surfing, writing, games, or simply sitting and breathing in and out. Whatever activity one chooses must be relaxing, easy, or fun. We live for so many things, but those quiet moments of rest are so valuable.

2011

The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!" ~Edward Payson Powell

The possibilities of next year are endless. Whatever really happens, thought, is unknown to me. So many things could happen between this year and the next. I could get accepted to a certain college. I could form new and great relationships. I could have great oppurtunities. This could be my best year. This could be my worst year. What will happen? Only God knows. As long as I don't plan my life, but surrender my life to let God plan it, I trust that this year will be fufilling in whatever way God intends it. Whatever happens, whoevr comes into my life, whoever comes out of my life, whatever problem I face, whatever obstacle I must jump, whatever path I take, I will always be...
