Thanksgiving

My family’s traditional thanksgiving meal is at my grandparent’s home here in Owensboro. My family from Bowling Green comes in and the house turns into chaos- and I love it. Grandmommy and mom are putting food on the counter, kids are running around like crazy people, and I just take it all in. The smell of the turkey and salty homemade foods make my mouth water, and I ALWAYS end up sneaking some meat before the meal officially starts. During the meal, I pile my plate with turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and my grandmother’s famous “pink stuff” (as I like to call it.) Everything is so perfect, and the day reminds me to always be thankful for the family I have all around me. I could not ask for a better family.
