Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
Do not pay attention to every word people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you- for you know in your heart that many times you yourself have cursed others.


*I know we hear things during the day that we don't like: like people talking bad about us or someone we are close to. If we pay attention to every word people say, and take it to heart, and get angry about it, it will not always be helpful to the situation. Also, we have to realize that even we say mean or degrading things about others out loud and even more in our minds. We just need to calm ourselves and learn to ignore and not think mean thoughts either.

If someone says something mean to me or does something rude, I always think this: at the end of the day, when that person is laying in their beds, is that the thing they are going to remember and dwell on before they go to sleep? Most likely not. So that is one reason why we cannot take everything to heart.
